Students will play the rhyming game by placing paper cookies face down on a table, desk or the floor. Each player turns 2 cookies up to find a rhyming match. If a match is made, the player places his/her pair of cookies in their plate. If no match is made, the cookies are returned to the face down position for the next player's turn. Students use a magic magnifying glass or perfect pointer to walk around the classroom and find words that begin with a specific letter or letters designated by the teacher. A list of the words found will be recorded by the student on a “Word Detective Document”. Each player receives 6 cards to play the game. As a word is found it must be placed in the correct square (1, 2, 3, or 4) on their document sheet.
