Students will prepare three strips of construction paper by writing the vocabulary word on the first, a definition of the word on the second, and a sentence using the word appropriately on the third. Each student will spin the spinner to see where the arrow lands. He or she will read the clue and find an answer on the word wall. The game will continue until everyone has had 5 turns. 2 Games in One!!!!
Players take turns picking a card and choosing an answer to the question. They check the back of the card for the correct answer and the number of spaces to be moved on the gameboard. The first player to reach the finish line WINS the game. This activity includes the literacy station task card with step-by-step directions, 2 sets of game cards (compound words and contractions) which are to be printed on the front and back, and a gameboard for a total of 19 pages.
